On February 9, 2023, the German Bundestag unanimously resolved to centralize debt collection supervision at the Federal Office of Justice from 2025 on. It is important to know, that debt collection companies operating in Germany are currently supervised by 38 different courts. EOS appreciates the decision not only because it supports the company’s values.

The centralization of supervision will strengthen reputable debt collection companies and gives us the opportunity to continue finding fair solutions between our customers and consumers.

"The few black sheeps that unfortunately exist in our industry have had an easy game so far: When they've been caught, they've usually moved on to another federal state and simply carried on. The centralization of supervision will strengthen reputable debt collection companies and gives us the opportunity to continue finding fair solutions between our customers and consumers," says Andreas Kropp, member of the EOS Group’s Board of Directors responsible for Germany. This political decision is seen as a step forward for consumers and protects them from dubious debt collectors.
